Dr. Sylvain Charlebois
Dean of Faculty of Management, Dalhousie University
Professor, Dalhousie University, Faculty of Agriculture
Dr. Sylvain Charlebois is nationally acclaimed as a leading specialist in food distribution and policy. Since July 2016, Dr. Charlebois is Dalhousie’s Dean of the Faculty of Management, where he also holds a crossappointment as Professor at Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture. A highly proficient researcher, he has published over 500 papers in peer-reviewed journals, professional publications and conference proceedings. Dr. Charlebois will be addressing agri-food.

Jeff Ryan is Vice President of Government and Stakeholder Relations at Canopy Growth Corporation. He is responsible for federal and provincial government relations and stakeholder engagement. Jeff has held multiple positions in the private sector and has extensive experience at the political level. Jeff will be speaking on “Cannabis” – A Canadian Perspective.

With over 30 years’ experience in account management, strategic planning, agency management and ownership, and contributions to the industry at large, Jack Bensimon is a recognized leader in the world of Canadian advertising. Bensimon Byrne is now Canada’s largest fully independent advertising agency, employing 210 people across three separate business units (Bensimon Byrne, OneMethod and Narrative PR), serving clients in both Canada and the US.

Joyce Gray joined the LCBO in July 2017 as Chief Customer Officer and is a seasoned retail executive with global operational experience. Joyce is responsible for the oversight and integration of LCBO’s customerfacing divisions including Marketing, Merchandising, Store Development & Real Estate and Retail Operations of +600 store network. Carolyn O’Grady-Gold
Vice President, Merchandising, LCBO
As Vice President, Merchandising, Carolyn O-Grady-Gold’s job, along with her team of more than 100 people, is to guide and oversee the strategic direction, business planning, and category management activities of the LCBO Wines, Spirits, Beer, and Vintages business units in the Merchandising Division. She is responsible for developing, planning and executing all product sales and merchandising strategies along with the space planning, merchandise financial planning, pricing administration and category management teams in partnership with suppliers and agent
Michael Tutt
Vice President, Wine Rack, Arterra Wines Canada
Michael Tutt is the Vice President of the Wine Rack chain of 164 wine stores. Prior to this role Michael was responsible for business development at Wine Rack where he was part of the negotiations of the wine boutique regulations with government, partnered with grocery companies to select locations and layouts for Wine Racks wine boutiques, and rolled out the first wine boutiques in Ontario. Michael has a strong working knowledge of the wine boutique regulations and an understanding of the successes and challenges of rolling out and operating wine boutiques. Michael will be providing an overview on wine boutiques.
David Harrington
VP Liquor, Optical & COE Services, Loblaw Companies Limited
David Harrington leads the National Liquor team at Loblaw Companies Limited. This newly-formed team manages the liquor categories and provides operational support across five provinces and 380 stores. David moved over to Loblaw Companies Limited from Shoppers Drug Mart in 2017 after nearly 10 years leading the Optimum Loyalty Program. David will be discussing wine in grocery.

Jill Windeatt is the Administrator at the Canadian Grapevine Certification Network. Jill will be providing an update on the Canadian Certification Network – Addressing Leafroll and Red Blotch.
